About Summer Dien

Hi! My name is Summer Dien and I am an international yoga teacher.
I was born in Vietnam and raised in Minnesota. I went to the University of Minnesota for my Undergraduate and Graduate studies. I have a Master's in Education and taught kindergarten for three years in the Middle East as an English as a Foreign Language teacher, before becoming a yoga teacher.

I started practicing yoga while teaching in Doha, Qatar in 2010. Yoga helped me draw strength, courage, and patience from within, providing me with the tools to deal with the challenges and difficulties that come with working abroad. After attending my first yoga class, I immediately felt the benefits of yoga and have been dedicated to my asana practice ever since.

I completed my foundational teacher training in 2013 with Paul Dallaghan at Centered Yoga in Koh Samui, Thailand. I went on to work at Samahita Retreat (home of Centered Yoga) as a yoga teacher and wellness advisor for two years from 2013-2015. I taught pranayama, led ashtanga, Mysore, restorative yoga, and guided meditation classes and also assisted on retreats and teacher training courses. I continue to study extensively with my teachers Sri OP Tiwariji and Paul Dallaghan in the areas of pranayama and asana.

I am trained in the classical pranayama practices (kriyas and pranayama techniques) of the Khaivalyadham lineage and in the traditional ashtanga vinyasa system. I have a liberal, non-dogmatic approach to asana and believe in using the body in the most intelligent way possible. I am a dedicated practitioner of pranayama, ashtanga, and Vipassana meditation.

I am committed to the path of yoga and dedicate my life to fully supporting and uplifting others by passing on the ancient yogic practices of asana, pranayama, and meditation.

When I am not teaching or practicing, I enjoy eating good food, cooking delicious, healthy meals for my loved ones and traveling. I am very excited to share my knowledge and experience with you all.
